NEWPORT, KY, September 20, 2007 ? 17-year-old Erik Kloeker of the world-renowned ?Pickled Brothers Circus Sideshow? has broken the Upside-Down Juggling World Record while suspended upside-down 35 feet up, atop the Ohio River. The record attempt took place on September 20th, 2007 in Newport, KY.

The new Upside-Down Juggling world record as set by Kloeker is 4 minutes and 5 seconds quadrupling the old record of 55.9 seconds held by an Australian juggler. Kloeker surpassed his own goal of 70 seconds by 175 seconds.

The record was officiated by Campbell County Property Valuation Administrator Daniel Braun as well as longtime variety performer and magic shop owner Artie Kidwell. The record will be sent to Guinness World Records for inclusion in the "Guinness Book of World Records."

Kloeker, 17 of Cold Spring, KY is ecstatic. "I trained for this for over four years!" Kloeker exclaimed. "I?m just glad I didn't lose my balls in the Ohio River!"

Upside-down juggling is no easy matter according to Kloeker's manager and brother Travis Fessler "Upside-down juggling requires an incredible amount of abdominal strength as well as concentration to overcome the disorienting effect of being inverted.?

The record attempt took place at the USS Nightmare, America?s premiere haunted steamboat. Entering into its 16th season, the popular Halloween attraction will be returning to the Newport waterfront in 2007. The USS Nightmare will be open starting September 21st through November 3rd Wednesday to Sunday.

Kloeker is a world champion juggler, as well as an accomplished fire-eater, comedian, and the world's youngest sword swallower. Kloeker has been performing professionally at venues nationwide for 4 years since learning to juggle at the age of 13. This was his first attempt at breaking a world record.
